	Consistent with our Environmental Policy, FCX is committed to remediating legacy sites where it has liability. As of December 31, 2007, FCX has identified more than 100 active remediation projects in 26 states. We have a dedicated team of environmental, legal, government relations, engineering, technology research, and corporate communications staff that work on these projects. Our goal is to address these liabilities in a proactive manner while working with the communities where these sites are located to not only remediate but consider the post-remediation beneficial uses of the properties.
