Freeport-McMoRan is a leading producer of Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate for use in both pesticide and non-pesticide applications. Triangle Brand® pesticide is EPA and NSF approved (also in Canada). The pesticide applications control algae, nuisance plants in municipal, agricultural, aquacultural and private water systems as well as roots in sewer pipes. The pesticide label also controls snails (responsible for swimmer's itch) and tadpole shrimp, which are detrimental to rice production. Triangle Brand® pesticide copper sulfate can also be a valuable fungicide for many crops, including grapes and potatoes. Triangle Brand® non-pesticide copper sulfate is used as a micronutrient in feed for swine, bovine and poultry as well as a component of fertilizers for copper-deficient soils. The non-pesticide label is also used in footbath for dairy cattle, pigments, plating, mining operations, new-generation wood preservatives and other industrial application.
