Freeport-McMoRan's Pollinator Conservation Initiative Supports Bat Week

April 16, 2020 - Each year, Freeport-McMoRan’s North American operations partner with a number of national and local nonprofit organizations to support Bat Conservation International's annual Bat Week in October.

As pollinators of agaves and other desert plants, bats play a vital role in maintaining the desert's diverse ecosystem.

Freeport-McMoRan join a number of national and local nonprofit organizations, agencies and businesses in hosting a week of events, which include field trips, classroom presentations with live animals, STEM and conservation activities to trail maintenance and habitat restoration for students and community members.
