Around the Company in Pictures: Indonesian Breeze

May 15, 2025 – Freeport’s Collaboration Hub in Phoenix bustled with excitement as employees recently gathered on a Saturday for Indonesian Breeze, an event where participants could explore Indonesian culture and food.
Indonesian Breeze was developed through a collaboration between Freeport and Indonesian students from Arizona State University with the goal to promote cultural immersion among Freeport employees. Participants who attended ranged from those visiting or working full-time at Freeport’s Indonesian operations, to employees preparing for their international placements and looking to experience Indonesian culture.
One event highlight was the chance to taste a variety of traditional Indonesian foods. Additionally, attendees discovered more about the country’s rich culture, participating in activities such as playing a traditional instrument and participating in games to practice their Indonesian language skills.
“By creating an interactive and engaging experience for those learning or wanting to learn the Indonesian language, this event provided an opportunity for language learners and frequent travelers to apply their language skills in real-time,” said Bryce Barnes, Superintendent-Global Learning Support and Alignment.
He said he hopes to continue this event next year, making it an annual tradition.
